Hey Survivor,
I hope all is well with you. I know I haven’t been around to cheer you on as you kick ass in this apocalyptic world called life, but I’ve been wrestling with life as well, and it has been knocking me out. Let’s go in order of things that have happened. The closet leaked, and now I have to put in a new ceiling with little help from insurance. I dislocated my knee and have been in bed for about two weeks now. A storm knocked down a lot of branches from my biggest tree, one of which hit the neighbor’s car, and I had to call a company to trim the tree up and clear everything away. I just handed in a short story that I’m really worried about. I know I’m just making up things in my head but I’m afraid it doesn’t fit with the rest of the stories in the anthology. You can tell me what you think of it soon because I plan on sending you an extended version.
But with all that, I’m still smiling cause I’m not about to let the universe think it won. No, but while a lot has happened, I’m better off than I was a few months ago, so at least I can handle all this, and my family is safe and happy, which is what matters. Now I don’t have much for you today, just wanted to fill you in, but to make sure you get a little value out of this, here are some Newsletters, Podcast & YouTubers you should be following.
Newsletters/ Substacks To Read
I’ve been following Iglesias for about a year or two now, and I love his vibe. He’s upfront about everything, calls things like they are, and is very supportive of chasing your dreams. He’s also a pretty badass writer. He writes some raw, personal, and genuine horror stories. So you should join his Substack.
Big in real life and the industry, White is a powerhouse name in the splatterpunk genre. He doesn’t hold back in his work, and he doesn’t hold back when addressing real-world issues that get under his skin. His laugh is wild. I feel like that’s how the devil sounds before he takes your soul.
I know Erik from his epic podcast “Cradle To The Grave,” where he tackles horror movies from every year he’s been alive. I wanted to do the same thing in blog form, but Erik has way more discipline than I do. He’s up to the 90s now. Erik also has a substack where he shares an inside look into his next horror project. You can sign up and check out the prior chapters on his Substack.

Horror Heaux Support Group
I talk about Amanda B. Weaver a lot when making horror recs, but did you know she’s a co-host of an epic podcast and book club with the awesome Samara Thee Scream Queen? I’ve been on the show, I think, once so far, and they’re covering Camp Lanier in their book club this month, but I love their vibe, a lot of fun and right to the point about what they like and don’t like. Checkout their NOLA episode, it made me want to go back… even after seeing that car get broken into last time.
YouTube
Blaque Witch YAYA
I love watching true crime and supernatural and creepy videos on YouTube. YaYa has combined both of my favorite things. She talks about true crime or stories that involve supernatural things such as Voodoo, Witchcraft, Curses, and more. I loved the episode she did on Lake Lanier, but every episode is really good and creepy.
The Evols
A couple that watches horror together and goes live with all their friends to show the world how wild and crazy their tastes are stays together. I’m pretty sure that’s how that saying goes. I met Mr. Evol when he was doing lives on IG, and all my favorite people were being interviewed There were some awesome convos, so I begged to be on his show, and he hasn’t blocked me yet. Mrs. Evol I slowly met through her husband and she reminded me a lot of my wife Angel cause they both had self-care/beauty businesses. But now they have come together for a power couple channel where they do interviews, trivia, reviews, and just random talks about horror. You should check them out.
KELSSWEETIE
Kelsee is an incredible book reviewer/artist whom I’ve been following on IG this year, and I just recently learned she has a YouTube channel where she does Vlogs, Reviews, Crafts, and more. The crafts are wild! She did this massive Marquee Box for her Halloween setup, and I love it. She’s also amazing at recreating covers, I love seeing her work. Be sure to follow her if you have an art bone in your body or if you’re like me and just like to watch things and be like “I wish I could do that.”
Well, that’s all I have for you today. Don’t worry about me; everything is going great; every now and then, you just have to hit a pothole or two, I guess. Make sure you’re being safe out there and kicking some apocalyptic ass. As always, stay safe, stay woke, and stay alive!
Until The Next Nightmare,
Thanks for the shout out!
